B8 Benches Alex666
Ukrainian esports organization B8 has announced they are removing 21-year-old Alexey “alex666” Yarmoshchuk from their active CSLGO roster. The news comes after the team had a heartbreaking run at the RMR, failing to qualify for the upcoming BLAST Premier Paris Major in May.
The team started their run in the RMR well, scoring two victories against MOUZ and Virtus.pro in the opening best-of-ones, However, their luck soon ran out, and the team racked up losses, only for their run in the RMR to end with a score of 2-3 when they were defeated by major favorites Cloud9 in the last chance qualifier.
Alex666 now ends his time on the team’s active roster, following the disappointing run. He originally joined B8 in August 2022, entering it alongside e Denis “amster” Liashenko and coach Ivan “maddened” Iordanidi. “We want to express our sincere appreciation for all the hard work and dedication alex666 brought to our team,” B8 additionally explained. “We wish him all the best in his future endeavors, and we know he will be a valuable asset to any team lucky enough to have him.” The player is now moved to the bench and will be actively seeking new opportunities.
What’s Next for B8?
B8’s run in the BLAST Paris Major RMR was a flashback to the IEM Rio RMR in 2022. There, the team got off to a decent 2-1 lead after the best-of-ones but then suffered two consecutive losses in the best-of-threes to fall short in the Swiss system qualifier with a 2-3 record.
The Ukrainian team will now quickly have to find a replacement for alex666 as they are slated to participate in the CCT South Europe Series 4. It will start on Sunday, April 23, with a first-round match of the Swiss group stage where B8 will have to go up against KS.
Additionally, B8 is also in the ESL Challenger League Season 45 lower bracket. A recent defeat in the opening round by the Falcons sent them there, where the Ukrainian team will have to face another French team, LDLC. B8’s roster now looks like this:
- Arseniy “cptkurtka023” Derevinskiy
- Artem “r1nkle” Moroz
- Denis “amster” Liashenko
- Mykhailo “OWNER” Lymar
- Ivan “maddened” Iordanidi (coach)
