Eternal Fire Bench xfl0ud
Professional CS:GO rifler Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç is no longer a part of Eternal Fire’s active roster, the organization announced. The announcement comes a week after the Turkish esports organization failed to make it through the BLAST Paris Major Europe RMR B, despite their surprising victory against favorites Astralis.
Ali “Wicadia” Haydar Yalçın will be stepping in as a stand-in for the player until a permanent solution is found, Eternal Fire explained. “We would like to thank xfl0ud for all the beautiful moments she has given us so far and wish her success in her career,” Eternal Fire’s statement on Twitter reads.
Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç has had a somewhat turbulent past with Eternal Fire, having represented the organization on three different occasions, with this benching ending his last seven-month-long stint with the team. He first entered the organization in October 2021. Having played for Eternal Fire for five months, the player suffered a broken arm and had to step down temporarily. He returned to Eternal Fire’s active roster a month after that and played for the team for about half a year as he was replaced by VALORANT-returnee Ahmet “paz” Karahoca in July.
xfl0ud once again returned to the Turkish organization’s CS:GO roster in October last year after the team went through a myriad of changes that eventually culminated in Özgür “woxic” Eker's departure from Eternal Fire. During his latest period playing for EF, the team managed to claim the champion title of the CCT Central Europe Malta Finals 1 after defeating Bad News Eagles.
However, xfl0ud averaged an unremarkable 0.98 rating at the Maltese event. This was not enough to help Eternal Fire, as the team had a disappointing 17-20th finish at ESL Pro League Season 17. Later, the team’s failure to qualify for the BLAST Paris Major proved to be the tipping point that made the management put xfl0ud up for transfer.
Eternal Fire will now face Apeks in their next official game at Brazy Party with the following roster:
- Engin “MAJ3R” Küpeli
- Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş
- Buğra “Calyx” Arkın
- Ömer “imoRR” Karataş
- Ali “Wicadia” Haydar Yalçın (stand-in)
