The popular TikTok star Addison Rae received tons of criticism from viewers over her new post, after an ad for Nintendo Switch. People are saying “she really wasn’t trying.”
Addison Rae Criticized about Her Recent Video
With over 84 million followers on TikTok, amassed in merely two years, it is without a doubt that Addison Rae is one of the most popular creators on the platform. She has now branched into different industries like acting and music but remains a devout tiktoker, posting regular short videos on the platform.
Despite her massive following, Rae often gets criticized online. This time the reason she is getting roasted is a recently uploaded video, advertising the Nintendo Switch.
The video in question was uploaded on October 8 and shows Rae sitting on a couch customizing her Switch Mii character and explaining the process.
Many people commented on various platforms that the whole setup looked somewhat strangely.
One commenter joked that Rae never touched the controller after finishing her character creation. Another wrote “When you know she doesn’t use a Switch,” next to a whole lot of skull emojis. Some others pointed out perhaps Rae’s biggest mistake of wearing boots on the couch.
An overwhelming portion of people seemed to agree that Rae’s whole demeanor on the video was rather uninterested and “forced” as if she doesn’t really care, criticizing her acting skills. “The laugh at the end was so forced it hurt my soul,” wrote one user.

Rae started TikTok in 2019 and now the barely 20-year-old star has amassed a huge following on social media, and with that come many people who are willing to bash her behavior –whether that is justified.

As a direct result of her overnight fame, she has received countless career opportunities in several different industries, seemingly without lifting a finger. With TikTok becoming intrinsically tied to the notion of “talentless” but conventionally attractive people being handed a world of opportunity, it is no wonder Rae is being constantly blasted.
Despite all the hate, Rae seems to look at the situation more lightheartedly, often reacting to the backlash with a joke, which often spurs on the haters even more.
