It’s going to be a busy week for Call of Duty fans as Activision is introducing the Gunfight Tournament mode, a new ZRG 20mm sniper rifle, and the Gunsmith Customs feature.
Activision on Cusp of Launching Gunsmith Tournament Mode
Gunslingers, you better lock-and-load because Activision has dropped the news on Monday that it’s bringing its two-versus-two Gunfight Tournament mode this week. The mode will hit Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in the next few days, offering brand-new opportunities to test your aim and skill in the game.
This development is focused on smaller teams that are looking to settle in-game conflicts or hone their skirmishes skills. The mode, which was first developed for Modern Warfare, was an immediate success, and it led to many in-game tournaments as proof of its value.
Naturally, these tournaments yield special cosmetic rewards that will be worth fighting for. Activision is surely sparing no compliments in selling the mode up, and the statement specifically said:
“Win your match and move onto the next round; lose, and you’re out. Each tournament introduces four new exclusive rewards as you march toward ultimate victory, including a new Emblem, Calling Card, Charm, and Weapon Blueprint.”

New Weapon and Blueprint Feature Coming Too
And, as you skirmish against people you probably don’t like very much, you will also have to keep an eye out for the brand-new ZRG 20mm sniper rifle, which should also be added to the game this week.
Activision, though, would not want you to have anything too easy, and you will have to brave a fresh challenge to get your hands on the new powerful gun. The game is also adding the Gunsmith Customs feature, which means that you can give it a shot and break the game physics by building your own weapons.
Since all three developments will happen within days, this is a great week to be a CoD fan. The game is arguably one of the most tended-to ones, and even though cheating scandals have been a blemish on the franchise’s reputation, things are definitely looking good for the Call of Duty series.
