Cloud9 will reportedly introduce changes to its League of Legends roster. The organization is rumored to seek a new mid laner after returning Fudge to the top lane position.
Fudge Returns to His Element
Cloud9’s League of Legends roster will return Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami back to his usual top lane position, Upcomer reported. The organization had the athlete play as a mid laner temporarily but this didn’t turn out very well.
Cloud9 had opted to try out having Fudge play on the mid lane as it wanted to acquire the top laner Park “Summit” Woo-tae to the organization. However, both Summit and Fudge failed to achieve great results in their respective roles. Because of this, the former will be stepping down to allow Fudge to return to the top lane.
The organization will now search for a suitable mid-lane replacement. The report said that Cloud9 is eyeing several professional mid-lane athletes. One of them was Yasin “Nisqy” Dincer but he went on to ink a contract with MAD Lions. Another potential replacement is Jouhan “Copy” Pathmanathan, who currently plays as a part of C9 Academy. However, Copy is of Canadian origin, which may complicate things for the US-based team.
Cloud9 to Introduce More Changes
Cloud9 finished fourth in the regular Spring season. Although this isn’t a disastrous result, it shows that some fine-tuning is still needed. Because of this, the organization also plans to introduce some changes to its bottom lane. Analysts predict that the organization might put Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen in the role, although that is yet to be confirmed.
Zven has played ADC since the beginning of his career, which is why such a decision might be risky, just as Fudge’s stint in a mid-lane role was a dangerous move.
Cloud9 recently said goodbye to coach Nick “LS” De Cesare, which was considered a major loss to the team. The organization will have to step on its feet quickly if it wants to achieve significant results in 2022.
