Capcom has unveiled a Definitive Update, bringing fresh content to Street Fighter V one last time.

Street Fighter V Gets a New Update

Capcom recently unveiled that it is working on Street Fighter 6, an upcoming addition to the beloved fighting game franchise. Despite the announcement, it would seem that the company is not quite over with Street Fighter V yet as it announced a new big patch.

The update is fittingly called the Definitive Update and, as the name suggests, will likely be the last major addition to the game. It is set to be released at the end of this month, bringing new content to the game.

The Definitive Update will bring new content for what is expected to be the last time. Capcom announced that new cosmetic additions will be making their way into Street Fighter V in the form of new tracksuit colors. The company will also add new CAP-JAMS Remixes for the five most recent DLC characters.

Players can expect to find two new filters that bring a unique atmosphere to the game. One is the Cel Shading filter, which aims to provide a more anime-ish feel. The other is the Pixel filter that makes the game look like an older title, bringing players a sense of nostalgia. Sadly, the two are available only for offline play.

The Definitive Update Will Rebalance SFV

The Definitive Update will adjust the game’s balance across the board. Some V-skills have will be retouched and all characters will get new EX meter combos. This will add more variety to the competitive aspect, prolonging the game’s lifespan until the release of the highly-anticipated Street Fighter 6.

While it might be a little unfortunate that the Definitive Update is the last time Street Fighter V will be getting new content, it is nice to see Capcom giving the game a final polish before fully focusing on its upcoming title. It is exciting to see how the new balance changes will affect the Street Fighter V scene.

Fans should stay tuned as the Definitive Update will go live on March 29.
