Will Rebirth Island Be Included in CoD: Warzone 2?

in Call of Duty
November 21, 2022
  • The much-anticipated CoD: Warzone 2 is finally released
  • It seems Rebirth Island is not included in the game
  • The map was the most popular in the original Warzone

Players of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 are wondering if the developers are ever going to include the hugely popular Rebirth Island in the game.

Where Is the Map?

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has finally hit the shelves and thousands of players worldwide have already entered the battlefield to see what the new battle royal has to offer. Of course, true to its predecessor, players have already found things they don’t like about the game, with popular streamers like Dr Disrespect being particularly vocal about some issues.

But despite some of the criticism, players seem to generally like what Warzone 2 has to offer. However, many of them were expecting popular maps from the first game to make their way into Warzone 2. One very popular map name circulation in the online discussion is Rebirth Island.

The map has been one of, if not the most popular map in the first Warzone game. This is in large part thanks to its small size made for hectic gameplay that left players coming back for more and more with each passing season. The map’s popularity grew even more thanks to additional updates and exclusive game modes, which made the map even more interesting and liked by the player base.

However, Rebirth Island is nowhere to be seen in Warzone 2. Instead, Activision has said it wants players to focus on the new Al Mazrah map.

Will Rebirth Island Return Soon?

It seems Al Mazrah is a permanent replacement and fans of Rebirth Island won’t be seeing the map in the near or distant future. With the release of Warzone 2, Activision decided to completely remove the map from the original Warzone, now being called Warzone Caldera. The map has been temporarily taken down until late November, but when it comes back, both Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep will not be playable.

Because Rebirth Island has been removed from Warzone 1, many fans hope this means it will simply be transferred to the new Warzone. However, leakers have indicated the maps could be done for good.

However, not all hope is lost, as some other leaks have suggested developers are currently making a “Rebirth-style map” that will release sometime in 2023 for Warzone 2. However, this also reinforces the fact that the original Rebirth Island will not return to the new Warzone game.

The last hope fans have to see the map again is because Rebirth Island was originally a Treyarch introduction. Considering the studio is currently developing a new CoD game set to release in 2024, the game could theoretically include a remake of Rebirth Island with its integration into Warzone. Of course, we have no proof to back this speculation.
