in Call of Duty
April 25, 2022
  • Twelve of these will be from the CDL, and the rest come from qualifier events
  • They will compete for a prize pool of $100 000
  • The finals will follow the same scoring format as the qualifiers did

This Saturday 20 teams from the Call of Duty League and qualifiers will compete in the CDL Resurgence: Rebirth Island tournament.

CDL Reveals Participating Teams

We are well into the Call of Duty League’s program for this year, with this weekend’s scheduled event not being an exception to the organization’s high standards. The Resurgence: Rebirth Island tournament, featuring a prize pool of $100 000 will have teams compete on the popular Warzone map.

The Call of Duty League revealed that a total of 20 teams will go up against one another to win the grand prize. Twelve of these are teams from the League itself, and the rest are teams that qualified through online qualifiers. They will all play to crown the new champion of Rebirth Island in the midseason break of this year’s CDL campaign.

The event, scheduled for Sunday, April 24, will see two groups of semifinalists. Group A will feature Los Angeles Thieves, New York Subliners, Paris Legion, OpTic Texas, Los Angeles Guerrillas, Florida Mutineers – all of these teams from the Call of Duty League. They will be joined by qualifiers Grev & Co., Dad Bods, Team Diverge, and JackalGetsCarried.

Meanwhile, the participants from group B are as follows: CDL teams London Royal Ravens, Atlanta FaZe, Seattle Surge, Boston Breach, Toronto Ultra, and Minnesota RØKKR. Qualifiers TiberiousKhan, Haha, Underrated, and GOATs, will also participate in the group.

Format and How to Watch the Event

With a grand prize of $30 000, $20 000 for second place, $15 000 for third place, and $10 000 for fourth. With stakes this high, watching the event is a must for many Call of Duty esports fans. Since the event is costed by the CDL, it’s a given it will be broadcast on YouTube.

The qualifiers leading to this weekend’s event were open, giving the chance to many teams to fight for a place in the semifinals and finals. “Call of Duty League Resurgence (CDLR) is a North American online open competition taking place on Rebirth Island in Call of Duty: Warzone. Did someone say “open”? Yes, yes we did,” reads the DCL’s official statement.

All qualification stages featured 4-map series, with scoring going as follows:

  • Elimination = 1 point
  • 1st = 2x multiplier
  • 2nd-3rd = 1.5x multiplier
  • 4-10th = 1x multiplier

The finals, which feature a 6-map series, will be played under the same format. Here’s the full list of the participating team’s rosters.
