Call of Duty: Warzone has had quite a few problems – from hackers to imbalanced weaponry. Now, a new skin turns people into an opaque orange blob that is hard to see from a certain distance.
Now You See Me, Now You Don’t
New skin? Great, you are a blurry orange blob, and chances are the enemy isn’t going to spot it. Your sight-defying camouflage is the enemy’s unfortunate end but when this is a feature of Call of Duty: Warzone, that’s a problem.
Your enemy respawns – and they complain. A new skin introduced to Call of Duty: Warzone is making life difficult because of the visual glitch it introduces to the game. Players turn to a floating orange blob that resembles their character’s head from a distance, making them hard to spot.
Sure enough, having your distinct operator skin is a fantastic way to innovate and customize the gaming experience, but it shouldn’t come at the expense of gameplay. After all, skins are supposed to be just cosmetic frills that add nothing other than bragging rights – in theory.
Well, the occasional rogue skin does sneak in, though, and that upsets the balance of forces which is precisely what happened with the Awoken Francis (shame on those of you rushing to acquire it!)
So, the skin is unlocked through the Vanguard season one battle pass, and it gives your operator an orange mask to wear. The mask is rightfully designed to cower your enemies, but it turns out that the skin is also making you invisible if you are far enough from your target. A Twitter user by the name of H E R D Z captured his encounter with one such operator, ending up in defeat.
As if to compound matters, this is not the first time that Warzone players have been able to cheat the physics of the world. Well, cheating is a little harsh, because the skin bugs are not necessarily player-made, although players do enjoy having the occasional upper hand over their peers until it’s happening to them.
Cosmetics are often celebrated by players, but they are sometimes turning their lives into a living hell. Forget the Krampus. The threat of an Orange blob wiping you out is very real indeed.
