Call of Duty Releases Season 4 Roadmap for Cold War and Warzone

in Call of Duty
June 15, 2021
  • A Roadmap for season 4 of the Call of Duty games has been released
  • Black Ops Cold War will be getting new maps and weapons, while Warzone will receive a new story chapter and weapons
  • New zombie content is also on the way for Cold War

Activision lays down the plans for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone’s season 4.

New Maps and Weapons Make Their Way to Cold War

The currently supported games in the big first-person shooter franchise Call of Duty will be receiving tons of new content as their fourth season rolls up. Activision released a roadmap to help fans keep track of the updates and to know what to expect. Here are some of the most exciting updates that will be coming with the new season, starting in two days.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be getting a lot of new stuff, including several new maps and two new weapons. The new weapons will be the MG 82 light machine gun and the C58 assault rifle.

As for the new maps, one of them will be Hijacked, a returning yacht-based map that was beloved in Black Ops II. As it’s a small scale, it will ensure dynamic and fast gameplay. Another Black Ops II returning map will be Rush. A desert-based map Collateral that can support either 6-vs-6 or 12-vs-12 matches is also making its way to the game. Finally, there is a new addition for the smaller 2-vs-2 matches called Amsterdam.

A new Scorestreak will be added in the form of the Handcannon. It will be able to decimate enemies with a single shot.

Black Ops Cold War will also receive a new update for its Zombies mode. A new map called Mauer der Toten will be released mid-season. It will be set in a zombie-infested East Berlin and will continue the Dark Aether story.

Warzone’s Story Continues

Call of Duty Warzone, on the other hand, will be getting a continuation of its story. A satellite crash in Verdansk will create a new hot spot for fighting over in-game loot.

A fast travel system called Red Doors will be released as a quality-of-life mechanic.

Three new weapons will be available at different points of the season, namely the OTs 9 handgun, the Mace, and the Nail Gun.

Finally, the Gulag will be updated to have a Hijacked aesthetic.

Activision has been providing its full support to the Call of Duty series and ensuring a clean and healthy community. It is exciting to see where the direction is going and what changes to the gameplay the new maps and weapons will bring.
