  • Activision sends out a marketing email teasing the new content coming to Warzone
  • The image shows Caldera on fire and what looks like Godzilla swimming toward the shore
  • It’s still unknown what exactly this would entail for gameplay

As rumors have suggested for weeks, a new marketing email by Activision confirms Godzilla is coming to Call of Duty: Warzone.

Activision Sends Mysterious Email

This season has been rather productive for the teams behind Call of Duty Warzone. The game recently had a mid-season content update that included many new rebalances, cosmetics, and even popular rapper Snoop Dogg as a playable character.

However, Raven Software and Infinity Ward, the game’s developers, are not done with content for the game just yet. In a recent teaser campaign, Activision marketing sent out an email containing a teaser image for the game that represents what looks like the back of Godzilla.

The email in question is associated with an Activision ID and simply has a satellite dish emoji as its title. When opened, it reveals a long vertical image of the map Caldera, with some of it being in flames. However, as one scrolls down in the image, one can see a large amount of water, finally followed by what seems to be Godzilla’s back poking through the waves, swimming towards Caldera.

When one clicks on the “Find Answers” button in the image, they are redirected to the Call of Duty Twitter account, where many teasers for the upcoming Warzone and Vanguard seasons are being posted by Activision.

There Were Rumors for Weeks

The image sent by email is just the last of a series of teasers the company has been putting out as a promotion for Warzone’s new season. For example, the trailer for season three revealed that the Nazis had “unwittingly shaken something awake, something far more powerful and fearsome than anything we could ever hope to comprehend.”

In further teasers, it was shown how operatives have uncovered mysterious audio recordings and the CoD Twitter account asked fans to help with the decryption. One user ran the file through an audio editing software, which revealed the audio spectrogram spelling the words “monsters are real”, perhaps alluding to Godzilla.

All these corroborate with findings by CoD leaker Tom Henderson. Back in February, he reported seeing an image showing King Kong fighting a WW2 plane while soldiers aimed their weapons at him. Henderson also reports seeing another image that showed “Godzilla destroying troops below with a bright blue beam.”

By this point, it’s absolutely certain that the legendary monster from pop culture will appear in the new season of Warzone, perhaps along with other big monsters. But what this will entail exactly remains to be seen.
