  • The Call of Duty League revealed the 16 players for the T-Mobile All-Star Weekend
  • Atlanta FaZe, Los Angeles Thieves, OpTiC Chicago, and Toronto Ultra will each contribute two representatives
  • Some choices were pretty surprising to the community

As the T-Mobile All-Star Weekend approaches, the Call of Duty League announced the lineup of players for the notable event.

The Sixteen Fan-Chosen Players Are Unveiled

The Call of Duty T-Mobile All-Star Weekend is just around the corner. In this event, sixteen of the best professional players will embark on a weekend-long range of competitive activities. The players are chosen by fan voting among the leading teams.

As the event is set to take place this weekend, on May 22 and 23, the Call of Duty League launched a video trailer and revealed the final roster of players.

It would seem Atlanta Faze, Los Angeles Thieves, OpTic Chicago and Toronto Ultra will be joining the fray with two players each.

Some of the other choices were pretty surprising and differed from the community’s expectations.

Speaking of Toronto Ultra, one thing that was fairly curious, was that fans elected Anthony “Methodz” Zinni to participate in the event, despite him not playing with the team for more than  two months. If else, it shows fans sure do miss him as a part of Toronto Ultra.

Another questionable choice was that fans didn’t vote McArthur “Cellium” Jovel into the event. The Atlanta Faze player is in the top five players of the Call of Duty League. He scores a 1.12 average KD ratio and has previously proven himself by winning the one-vs-one tournament in last year’s edition of the All-Star Weekend.

Lastly, players had chosen James “Clayster” Eubanks as a representative of the New York Subliners. Sadly, Clayster will be unavailable during the weekend because of personal matters and will instead be replaced with his colleague Paco “HyDra” Rusiewiez. HyDra is a suitable replacement – in the short time after he joined the team last month, he proved himself as an exceptional player. HyDra currently has the same average KD ratio as Cellium, sitting at 1.12. However, the Hardpoint mode is where HyDra truly shines with an impressive 1.29 KD.

More Details about the Upcoming Event

The T-Mobile All-Star Weekend will feature two separate events where the elite players face off against one another.

The first of the two events is the one-vs-one All-Star Pro Skills Tournament. It will be in a single-elimination format and will test each player’s mettle individually.

Viewers will be given the opportunity to try and predict how the tournament will unfold bracket by bracket. Each match they guess correctly will earn them a 15-minute double experience boost.

The All-Star Pro Skills Tournament will be followed by another four-vs-four challenge. The sixteen pros will be distributed in four teams by several prominent casters from the Call of Duty League, namely:

  • Thomas “Chance” Ashworth
  • Miles “Miles” Ross
  • Anthony “Nameless” Wheeler
  • Jeremy “StuDyy” Astacio

The four-vs-four tournament will also be in a single-elimination format but will feature various game modes such as Control, Hardpoint and Search and Destroy.

Both tournaments will be streamed on the official Call of Duty League YouTube channel.

The Call of Duty franchise continues to attract fans worldwide. As it grows, events such as the All-Star Pro Skills Tournament become an increasingly interesting change of pace.
