- Call of Duty leakers claim to have information about the next two titles
- According to them, the 2022 game will be developed by Infinity Ward and the 2023 one – by Treyarch
- The 2023 title will allegedly have a semi-futuristic setting
Leakers are looking far ahead as they tease info about the 2022 and 2023 entries in the Call of Duty franchise.
The 2023 Game to be Developed by Treyarch
According to an alleged leak, the next Call of Duty title will be a sequel to the 2019 title Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. However, the leaks don’t stop there as leakers claim there is another one planned for 2023 that is possibly going to be developed by Treyarch. Although no official confirmation has been given by any Call of Duty-related parties, the rumors have quickly spread.
Reportedly, the 2022 title is going by the codename “Project Cortez” and will be likely produced by studio Infinity Ward. Many believe that it will be a sequel to 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Judging from the studio cycle pattern between Sledgehammer, Infinity Ward, Raven Software, and Treyarch, people have come to speculate that the 2023 game will be developed by Treyarch.
Tom Henderson, a prominent community persona, is known for his insight and reliable leaks. According to him, the 2023 Call of Duty edition is going to be set in a semi-futuristic period that will have some high-tech esthetics and gadgets but not as far as having the notoriously disliked jetpack from past games.
The Far Future is Still Uncertain
Nothing is set in stone yet and any leaks for a game that is two years ahead may prove to be faulty. We still barely know anything about the so-called Project Cortez and what it will bring in 2022. On one hand, developers usually are several steps ahead on what gets announced and it is possible for an experienced leaker to get his hands on some curious info. On the other hand with the games’ release being so far ahead it is always for the best to take rumors with a grain of salt.
Yet, it is still interesting to hear and speculate about future titles. Treyarch returning as a developing studio is one of the more exciting news for the company as their Black Ops entry remains as one of the most liked games of the franchise to date.
Although we don’t know what the far future will bring, we definitely are aware of what is coming next. Currently, fans are eagerly awaiting Call of Duty: Vanguard’s release on November 5. Not only will the game bring some fresh Call of Duty content to fervent fans of the franchise but it will also be accompanied by the long-awaited introduction of an anti-cheat system that will be added to Warzone as well.
