Danish CS:GO veteran Asger “⁠AcilioN⁠” Larsen announced that it’s time to switch from being a player to being a coach.

AcilioN Announces Changes

It is not uncommon for veteran esports professionals to become trainers for a newer generation of players when they retire from competing. Such is the case for 26-year-old Asger “⁠AcilioN⁠” Larsen, who recently announced he will be making the switch to coaching, as well as looking for his first job at the position.

Whoever ends up making a contract with the Danish CS:GO veteran will receive a plethora of knowledge and experience in the field. Over his almost decade-long career, AcilioN has played for many well-known organizations, such as Dignitas, Heroic, and MAD Lions. Unfortunately, since last year, the player has not been able to find a permanent team, spending short lengths of time with Ambush DK, Preasy, and Sashi instead.

“Over my almost 10-year professional career, I have learned so much not only about the game but most importantly it has taught me so many valuable life lessons,” AcilioN wrote in the Twitter post announcing his move to coaching. “From building teams from scratch acting as the in-game leader, analyst, and coach at the same time, to being in tier 1 teams with massive coaching staff. I have really seen what works and what doesn’t.”

The veteran player’s greatest achievement is the winning of Flashpoint 1 back in 2020. He was part of MAD Lions, and alongside the likes of Rasmus “⁠sjuush⁠” Beck, Fredrik “⁠roeJ⁠” Jørgensen, and Frederik “⁠acoR⁠” Gyldstrand, AcilioN helped the team win the trophy, alongside the $500 000 prize money and the No13 spot in the world rankings.

AcilioN further said in his Twitter announcement, that he is open to offers from any region, as well as for any coaching position, stating that his main long-term goal is to become a head coach. He explained that due to his long career and the fact he’s been around a variety of coaches and players, he has picked up many skills needed for the job. That being said, AcilioN also acknowledged that he does not have experience coaching others, so he will start a coaching education in Denmark later this year to fill in the gaps.

“My DMs are open so don’t hesitate to reach out,” AcilioN concluded.
